For Emily Terlak, fashion has always come easy. At 23 years old, Terlak has taken her love for fashion to a new level by creating “Emily Anne Style,” a blog that features the newest trends as well as classic pieces. Her newest endeavor chronicles her visits to local boutiques.
Terlak’s adoration for fashion began at a young age.
“I loved the way I felt when I dressed up,” Terlak said. “I carried myself differently when I dressed a certain way.”
This passion has led Terlak to create a personal image consulting business, where she helps clients identify a personal style and shops with them to achieve that style. Though fashion can be intimidating to some, Terlak subdues this fear in her clients. By helping clients find clothes that make them feel good but are also comfortable, Terlak displays her knowledge of fashion and styling.
Terlak’s strong aptitude for fashion and her work in personal image consulting led her to reviewing local boutiques. Terlak has scoured the area for the best boutiques throughout the Fox Valley. Two Naperville boutiques recently were covered, one of which was a consignment shop, the other a trendy but unique boutique.
“Big box stores offer variations of classic pieces, while boutiques offer punctuation pieces that make outfits more personal,” Terlak said.
Terlak’s blog also offers advice for readers, ranging from new fashion trends to where the best accessories can be found. Terlak advises readers to assemble a fashion phrase to describe their personal style. This can be done by identifying the most worn pieces in your wardrobe as well as personal style icons. By finding this phrase, readers will be one step closer to expressing themselves through fashion.
