Agnes
Age: 3½ years old
Breed: Female domestic shorthair — gray tabby
Background: Agnes came to ADOPT from Chicago Animal Control in January.
Personality: Agnes is a queen-size lady, but that just means there is more of her to love. Her big tummy provides more surface for the belly rubs that she loves so much and being chubby does not prevent her from bopping around enough for a fun game of chase.
Adoption fee: $100
Other: All animals at ADOPT are vet checked, spayed or neutered, microchipped and are up to date on age-related vaccines.
Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, 630-355-2299 or www.adoptpetshelter.org.
Marlena
Age: 7 years old
Breed: Labrador retriever
Background: Marlena was brought to ADOPT in a shelter transfer from Kentucky on Jan. 20.
Personality: Marlena has a happy-go-lucky temperament and is eager to please. She is a lover for all people! She would thrive in an active home where she can go on walks. While her age has placed her in the senior category, this girl is quite strong and will require obedience training.
Adoption fee: $225
Where to find this pet: ADOPT Pet Shelter, 630-355-2299.
Dickens
Age: 1 year old
Breed: Wire-haired Chihuahua mix
Personality: A pocket-sized charmer, Dickens gets along with everyone! Dogs, cats, people — he loves ’em all. But because of his dainty size, he would be best with older kids and adults. He’s fun to be with.
Adoption fee: $175
Other: A real gentleman, Dickens is already housebroken and crate-trained. He already is neutered and current on his shots.
Where to find him: Rover Rescue, an all-volunteer dog rescue group, 630-897-7454 or RoverRescue.org.
Nemo
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Boxer, sharpei mix.
Background: He was rescued from a kill shelter just in time.
Personality: He is a loving dog who loves to play and be loved. He is young so he does need training. He is good with other dogs his size or larger. No small dogs or cats. Since he is so playful, he would do best in a home with older children.
Other: He is current on all shots and is neutered.
Where to find him: 630-553-7829
Mister Pudge
Age: 1 year old
Personality: He likes to move in slow motion, checking everything out to make sure he does not miss a thing! His foster family likes to carry him around with his head hanging over the back of the shoulder so he can see what is going on. He loves to chase and wrestle with his foster brothers and sisters. He gets along with all of the cats, as well as three dogs. He is completely litter box trained. He would not do well with young children (younger than 5).
Where to find him: HELP, helpinganimals.org or 877-364-2286.
