Aurora Regional Fire Museum: Hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Admission $3.50 for adults, $2.50 for seniors and firefighters and $2 for children ages 12 and younger. DuPage County Historical Museum: “DuPage County and the Civil War: A Local Perspective, to Sept. 2012. Other exhibits will take you on a journey through 150 years of history, a walk in the woods, an 1890’s family sitting room and an activity area all about measurement. The trains run on the third and fifth Saturdays each month. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. At 102 E. Wesley St., Wheaton. David L. Pierce Art & History Center: Exhibit commemorates the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, opens in early June. Joliet Area Historical Museum: Interactive living history demonstrations in the Museum’s lower level auditorium or, weather permitting, in the Fountain Garden off of the Museum’s Visitor’s Center, 2 to 4 p.m. June 11. Reenactors will portray the 100th Illinois, Will County’s regiment. Civil War-related activities for kids will also be available in the upper level Discovery Room. Free admission. Explore a dozen hands-on activities that highlight the plant and animal life found at the Batavia physics laboratory. Designed for grades first through seventh grade students.
