DuPage County Historical Museum: “DuPage County and the Civil War: A Local Perspective, to Sept. 2012. Other exhibits will take you on a journey through 150 years of history, a walk in the woods, an 1890’s family sitting room and an activity area all about measurement. David L. Pierce Art & History Center: Exhibit commemorates the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Elgin Public Museum: The traveling exhibit, Tattoo: An American Evolution will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Feb. 4. Lucas Clifford, owner of Top Notch Tattoos, will discuss the art of giving tattoos. Joliet Area Historical Museum: The Soaring Achievements of John C. Houbolt, permanent exhibit. Apollo/Houbolt Exhibit celebrates the 1969 moon landing and honors the former Joliet resident and key proponent of the lunar orbit rendezvous concept. Little White School Museum: Special exhibit honors Oswego area residents who have served from the Civil War through the wars of the 20th Century. Free. Naper Settlement: The exhibit, “150 Years: A Promising Start,” that explores the 150-year history of North Central College is in the Heritage Gallery to June 2012.
