The Chicago Travel and Adventure Show: The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, brings in performances and inspiring experts to help you travel smarter. Highlights include appearances by Travel Channel stars Samantha Brown and Mark DeCarlo and activities like scuba diving, rock wall climbing, zip-lining, the Fiery Foods competition, cooking demonstrations and exotic travel destinations around the world. The show is open this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 28 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 29. Adult admission is $9 online with Promo Code: CHPR or $15 at the door. 3rd Annual GARAGE REP: Steppenwolf Theatre company features three productions in rotating repertory by some of Chicago’s most innovative, storefront companies: LiveWire Chicago presents “Oohrah!,” The Inconvenience presents “Hit the Wall,” and Theatre Zarko presents “He Who.” GARAGE REP will play a ten-week run Feb. 2 through April 8 in The Steppenwolf Garage, 1624 N. WinterTap JAMboree: The Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents its annual Winter Tap JAMboree. Performances include CHRP’s resident ensemble BAM!, the Afro-Haitian Tamboula Ethnic Dance Company, The Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, M.A.D.D. Rhythms and Mr. Taps. Sophisticated Ladies: New series at Jazz Showcase will feature three of Chicago’s leading female vocalists on select Mondays from 8 to 11 p.m. The series opens on Feb. 6 with “Ultra Sexy, Ultra Cool” — KT McCammond with Jeremy Kahn and Jim Cox.
