Noe and Leoba Benitez welcome you to their new restaurant, Casanova Mexican Restaurant at 1890 Mill St. in Batavia, across from the post office. Casanova opened last Monday.

The Benitez family wanted to bring authentic Mexican food to the area, and start a family business. They have lived in Aurora for the last 18 years, emigrating from Mexico. Noe previously worked in construction before deciding to go into the restaurant business.

Leoba describes the new restaurant, formerly El Taco Grande, as a traditional Mexican restaurant. They offer specials, cocktails, dine-in and carry-out. She said the fajitas are worth a visit.

They are open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call Casanova at 630-406-0669.

Freaky fast in Sugar Grove

Sugar Grove residents have another fast food choice while on the go now that Jimmy John’s opened this spring on Route 47.

Owned by Dan and Vanessa Leuer, the new Jimmy John’s adds to the recent food offerings along the growing Route 47 corridor. The “gourmet” sandwich franchise is at 472 N. Route 47 in The Shops of the Landings.

The sandwich shop known to honor mom, and deliver “freaky fast” food, was started by 19-year-old entrepreneur Jimmy John Liautaud in 1983. Jimmy John’s has more than 1,200 locations. Call the Sugar Grove Jimmy John’s at 630-466-1300.

Spring for your eco-friendly lawn

Dan and Kim Toth, of Batavia, recently joined forces with Lawn Doctor to start the lawn care franchise out of their home. The Toths serve the Aurora, North Aurora and Batavia areas.

The Toths became interested in lawn care when they were researching eco-friendly lawn options to help their oldest son combat health issues, and that led to them investing in a Lawn Doctor franchise. The couple purchased the franchise last fall, and already expanded out to the Wheaton and Glen Ellyn areas.

Kim has taught high school biology, and Tim worked as an operations manager at a credit bureau. They have five employees, and plan to continue growing.

Founded in 1967, Lawn Doctor offers many services including pest control, tree and shrub care, and more. Call Lawn Doctor (with the big green thumb) at 630-406-8535. Or visit
