OMango has opened at 1056 N Route 59 near the train station. The casual restaurant serves fresh and healthy Indian food.
Owner Karen Powell said the contemporary Indian restaurant was inspired by her time in India.
“I want to share with our guests the warmth of India and the flavors and food that I love eating,” Powell said. Powell runs the OMango with Sandeep Bhargava, and business partners David Vick and Ravi Kumar.
“We have invested a lot of time in creating a quick casual dining experience that celebrates the diversity of India and the warmth of the Indian people,” Bhargava said. “Our focus is to make Indian food very mainstream and accessible for our customers.”
All of the fresh food will be prepared in OMango’s kitchen theater, where customers can view the preparation of their meal. Diners can select from a variety of flavor journeys to customize their order including Masala, Hariyali, Mango-Coconut, and Vindaloo.
OMango’s chef, Raj Gandhi, has travelled throughout the world bringing Indian food to many five-star hotels and high-end restaurants, Bhargava said. The two worked together to create a flavorful and low-calorie menu that includes fresh wraps, baked samosas, and more.
OMango will celebrate with an official grand opening on March 8. The opening celebration coincides with the Indian Holi Festival, a celebration of springtime.
OMango offers sit-down dining and curbside take-away service. Restaurant hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reach them at 630-449-5100, online at www.eatomango.com, or on Facebook.

A Toda Madre is all about mom when translated word-for-word, but Rodrigo Cano said it’s an idiom in Spanish, not to be taken literally.
“It’s an expression that has morphed into ‘totally awesome,’ ” said Cano, who is opening up A Toda Madre, next to the popular Bien Trucha in Geneva this spring.
Cano said that he and partner Ricardo Garcia-Rubio are opening a spinoff to Bien Trucha right next door at 416 W. State St. in downtown Geneva.
Cano describes A Toda Madre as a Mexican concept restaurant with a small menu that includes hot and cold small plates inspired by things that they cook at home. He said it’ll be a totally different experience from Bien Trucha, which is celebrating five years in business this year.
“It’ll give people a different option right next door,” Cano said. It’ll be very casual, and they’ll even accept reservations at A Toda Madre.
Cano said they plan to open the “totally awesome” restaurant in late March.
The best way to keep up with the latest on A Toda Madre is by visiting Bien Trucha Inc. on Facebook.
