Updated: March 27, 2014 6:27AM

A 70-year-old Naperville man was charged with drunken driving after fleeing from an Oswego traffic crash Monday evening, Oswego police said.

Around 6:50 p.m., shortly after he was allegedly involved in a hit and run crash near Route 71 and Orchard Road in Oswego, Yorkville police stopped Mario Perea, 1800 block of Auburn Avenue, on an unrelated offense.

Perea was pulled over for improper lane usage near Route 47 and Greenbriar Road. Officers determined him to be under the influence of alcohol. Following the traffic stop, Yorkville police were made aware that Perea had just fled from the Oswego crash scene.

Perea was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, having one headlight, no insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol, Yorkville police said.

Oswego police charged Perea with leaving the scene of an accident.
