Homemade bomb thrown  at driveway in Montgomery

Police in Montgomery are seeking information about a homemade incendiary device someone threw towards a driveway Monday night on the 2800 block of Frances Street.

Police and firefighters were called to a home at the address about 11:30 p.m. Monday after a resident found a wine bottle with a partially burned rag in the driveway.

The bottle and rag have been collected and sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab for processing. There were no injuries or damage to property.

Michelle C. Key, 36, of the 700 block of Spring Street, Aurora, was charged Monday with drunken driving at Chestnut Street and West Park Place, Aurora police said. She also was charged with failure to reduce speed, not having headlights on, improper lane usage, not having a driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Dakota I. Glenn, 22, listed as homeless, was charged early Wednesday morning with retail theft at Butterfield Road and Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora police said. Also charged at the same time and place with retail theft was Isamar J. Ortiz, 19, of the 0-99 block of Osage Street, Oswego.

Jamie L. Dunlap, age and address not given, was injured Sunday in a two-car collision at North Farnsworth and Dearborn avenues, Aurora police said. Police said Dunlap’s car hit another car that had slammed on its brakes in front of her. She reported to police her hand was injured, but refused medical treatment. The other driver drove off. Dunlap was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
