Three people have been charged following Tuesday morning’s shooting in a Montgomery subdivision.
The shooting happened just before 8 a.m. at a home in the 2800 block of Frances Lane in the Lakewood Creek West subdivision. No one was injured during the incident.
Two juveniles and an 18-year-old Boulder Hill man are facing charges, Montgomery police said.
A 17-year-old Aurora teen has been charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm. He was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center, police said.
A 17-year-old Boulder Hill teen was charged with unlawful contact with a gang member, and for having a juvenile probation violation warrant out for his arrest. He was taken to the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles.
A third man, 18-year-old Saul Muro, 0-99 block of Durango Drive in Boulder Hill, is also facing weapons charges. Muro was charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. He was taken to the Kendall County Jail, police said.
The men were taken into custody Tuesday morning after fleeing the scene. The suspects were involved in a crash near Routes 31 and 30, Montgomery Police Chief Daniel Meyers said.
The Kane County Major Crime Task Force, along with the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s office, are assisting Montgomery police with the investigation.
Meyers said the shooting allegedly stemmed from a domestic incident that occurred at the home recently.
Neighbors said they heard at least five shots fired around 7:45 a.m. They then saw two vehicles flee the scene.
Police said the vehicle the suspects were in was chased by a vehicle driven by a resident of the home where the shots were fired. The two vehicles ended up crashing into each other near Route 30 and Route 31. The suspects were taken into custody nearby.
Police said a weapon was recovered. It is believed to be the weapon used in the shooting. Also, police recovered shell casings outside the home.
Any witnesses to the shooting are asked to call Montgomery police at 630-897-8707, Ext. 3300.
