Gov. Pat Quinn Thursday announced a capital investment of more than $1.4 million to reconstruct a road in Aurora.
The investment will make way for an access road on Route 34 at the Canadian National Railroad to be reconstructed for $1.46 million, Quinn’s office said. Elgin-based Martam Construction will complete the road work, and the project will be overseen by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
“Our investment will make traffic flow more safely and conveniently in Aurora,” Quinn said Thursday. “The project will also employ a number of construction workers, which will drive the local economy forward.”
