Two Joliet brothers charged with the shooting death of a 20-year-old Aurora man have been transferred from the Kane County Jail to the Kendall County Jail.
Kane County Sheriff’s Spokesman Lt. Patrick Gengler said that the men were transferred because a family member of murder victim Arin Williams works as a correctional officer at the Kane County Jail where the men were being housed.
Jaquan Hosey-Green, 19, and Dimitri Hosey-Green, 18, will return to Kane County for a status hearing on Friday morning, then return to Kendall County. Jaquan Hosey-Green is being held on $1 million bond. His brother, Dimitri, is being held on $1.5 million bond for allegedly shooting Williams in the head during an alleged drug deal gone bad earlier this month.
The shooting occurred in the bathroom of a restaurant in the 800 block of North Lake Street.
“The chances of something happening (between the suspects and the officer) are pretty rare, but we want to keep away any potential conflict of interest,” Gengler said. “It is just one of those things where the right thing to do was have them go (to Kendall County Jail).”
