Man charged after making threats to kill woman

An Aurora man has been charged with felony harassment by telephone after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman and her children, police said.

Police said Ramon Moreno-Contreras, 37, 1200 block of Indian Avenue, had been charged with disorderly conduct Saturday evening for allegedly entering the bedroom of the victim’s daughter while she was undressed. Moreno was booked on that charge and posted bond. When he was released, police said Moreno contacted the victim, and threatened her for pressing charges.

Around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, police went to Moreno’s home to question him about the threats. Moreno allegedly gave officers a false name, and struggled with police as they tried to take him into custody. He was charged with harassment by telephone, and for resisting a police officer, police said.


Arnoldo Aguilar, 28, 700 block of Superior Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, failure to signal, and speeding at 10:07 a.m. Monday near Lincoln Avenue and Claim Street, police said.

Adrian Lomeli, 22, 1300 block of Superior Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane usage at 3:27 a.m. Sunday near South Farnsworth Avenue and North Avenue, police said.

Jose Ontiveros, 25, 800 block of South Kendall Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, failure to notify police of damage following a crash, and driving on a suspended license at 9:38 p.m. Monday, police said.

Vivian Scheibe, 60, 12800 block of Mackenzie Road, Yorkville, was injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday near Route 47 and Walker Road, deputies said. Deputies said Scheibe hit a snow drift while driving on Route 47, and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle went into a ditch, and rolled at least one time. She was taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.


A resident reported on Sunday that someone entered a home and stole $17,500 worth of electronics and clothing while the family was away on vacation, police said.


A Yorkville woman has been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly getting into a fight with a household member over what was served for dinner. Police said Jackalyn Watkins, 30, 1300 block of Carolyn Court, told the victim that dinner smelled like “dog food,” which created an argument. Police said the fight turned physical, with Watkins striking the victim, and biting her on her cheek around 7:48 p.m. Monday at the Carolyn Court address.

Raul Corral, 29, 500 block of Sweet Briar Street, Plano, was charged with drunken driving, illegal transportation of alcohol, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he ran his vehicle off the road and struck a concrete well around 2:05 a.m. Saturday in the 9200 block of Galena Road, police said.
