A 44-year-old Aurora man is expected to survive after being run over and dragged by a vehicle while arguing with a man outside his home Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of North Elmwood Drive.

According to police reports, Scott Tinsley, 41, 1100 block of McDonald Avenue, was allegedly driving the vehicle when the crash occurred. Tinsley has been charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, felony failure to report an accident with injuries, and improper backing.

Police said Tinsley showed up at the residence around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said Tinsley attempted to push his way inside the home, but was unsuccessful.

At some point, the male victim and his 18-year-old son arrived home, and an argument began with Tinsley, who was now sitting inside his vehicle in the driveway of the home.

During the argument, Tinsley allegedly placed the vehicle in reverse, and ended up running over the male victim, dragging him into the street.

Witnesses said Tinsley’s vehicle then jumped a curb, and drove into the yard of the home toward the victim’s son before fleeing the scene.

Police found Tinsley at his home a short time later and he was taken into custody by police.
