A 25-year-old Oswego man was charged with felony home invasion on Sunday after he allegedly broke into his girlfriend’s home and attacked a man, Aurora police said.
According to police, Blake Russell, 400 block of Gloria Lane, was looking through the window of his girlfriend’s residence in the 4300 block of Bayhead Court around 7:10 a.m. when he saw the woman with a 33-year-old man.
Russell allegedly broke a window, and entered the residence in an attempt to confront the couple.
Police said the male victim became frightened, and hid in the closet with a knife.
When Russell approached the victim, the two men engaged in a fight, and Russell ended up getting stabbed, police said.
Russell was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
He was charged with a Class X felony for home invasion/causing injury.
Police said the male victim received minor injuries during the fight, but refused medical treatment.
