Fire strikes house in Aurora

No one was injured during a fire Sunday at a house in Aurora.

The Aurora Fire Department responded at 8:10 p..m. Sunday to house fire on the 2600 block of Red Hawk Ridge Drive.

Firefighters found the exterior and interior of the chimney of the home engulfed in flames, with fire extending from the first floor of the chimney up to the top.

The residents of the home discovered the fire, notified the fire department and exited safely.

Six fire companies fought the fire. There were no reported injuries to any occupants or firefighters. Damages to the structure are estimated at $50,000.
