Aurora man hit by car on Fifth Avenue

A man was taken to an Aurora hospital to be treated for injuries after he was hit by a car in the 700 block of Fifth Avenue in Aurora on Tuesday at 3:40 p.m.
Miguel Quezada-Moyet was walking west on Fifth Avenue when he turned to run north across the street. The driver of a car, Solomon R. Topps, tried to brake, according to a report, but couldn’t avoid Quezada-Moyet, who jumped up onto the hood of Topps’ car and then fell to the ground.
Topps was treated by a medic at the scene. Quezada-Moyet was transferred to Rush-Copley Medical Center for treatment and cited for improper walking in the roadway.
One man and two teens from Aurora were charged with criminal damage to property and theft, both Class 4 felonies, just after midnight on Monday. Jesus Gonzalez, 17, Francisco Gonzalez, 18, and Rodrigo Gonzalez, 21, all of 1100 block Rural Street, Aurora, were arrested at Pierce Street and Adams Street in Aurora.
A vacant single-family home in the 1000 block of Homer Avenue was burglarized on Dec. 2 at around 9 a.m. The incident was reported to Aurora police Monday at 12:34 p.m. after a worker for Pricore Home Management noticed the home had been ransacked and an air conditioner and water heater were missing. The worker was doing maintenance on the foreclosed property, which was recently was taken over by a bank. The stolen property was valued at $1,500.
Jason Vargas was injured in a one-car crash at South Farnsworth and Sedona avenues at 5:51 a.m. Friday, police said. According to a report, the vehicle Vargas was driving crashed into a guard rail. Vargas was transported to Rush-Copley Medical Center, according to police.
Richard Sutton, 26, of the 500 block of Lauderdale Street, Llano, Texas, was charged with drunken driving, improper parking on a roadway and illegal transportation of alcohol at Route 47 and Cannonball Trail at 2:19 a.m. Saturday, Yorkville Police said. According to a report, Sutton was found in his semi truck asleep on the side of the road.
Frances Alexander, 49, of the 700 block of Windsor Road, Sugar Grove, was charged with felony retail theft in the 1800 block of Marketview Drive at 9:07 a.m. Saturday, police said.
