Kitchen fire damages Geneva restaurant

Geneva firefighters responded to a fire at a South Third Street restaurant around 8:30 p.m. Sunday after employees reported smoke in the kitchen.
A fire had apparently broken out inside a wall at Gratto Italian Tapas, 207 S. Third St.
Firefighters said that the restaurant will likely be closed for several days while the damage is fixed. About $5,000 in damages occurred as a result of the fire. Heat from the cooking area had apparently transferred through the wall, and ignited wooden studs, firefighters said.
No one was injured, and all restaurant patrons and employees were evacuated safely. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately one hour.
Marco Jacquez, 38, 500 block of Talma Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and unlawful parking at 3:21 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Lake Street, police said.
Stephen Pala, 43, 1200 block of Horne Street, St. Charles, was charged with drunken driving, and disobeying a police officer after he drove around police directing traffic near a crash at 2:34 a.m. Saturday near I-88 and Farnsworth Avenue, police said.
David Haeseli, 58, of Bridle Creek Drive, St. Charles, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, improper turn at an intersection and no insurance at 12:10 a.m. Saturday near North Lake Street and West Park Avenue, police said.
Ismael Romero, 53, 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance at 7:26 p.m. Friday after he was allegedly found with drugs in the bathroom of a bar in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue, police said.
Juan Navarro-Gutierrez, 35, 400 block of Clark Street, Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:50 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Clark Street, police said. Navarro-Gutierrez also had a failure to appear warrant for driving on a suspended license, police said.
Cheryl Ginley, 48, 900 block of Morton Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended/revoked license, no insurance, and a light violation at 12:20 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Howard Avenue, police said. Ginley was also wanted on a bond forfeiture warrant for felony forgery in Will County, police said.
Moses Ochoa, 64, 1900 block of Tall Oaks Drive, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, and no insurance at 2:18 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Indian Trail, police said.
Johnathon Moore, 32, 200 block of Valley Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of identification, and illegal transportation of alcohol at 9:20 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Monomoy Street, police said. Moore was also picked up on a warrant for resisting a peace officer, police said.
Rigoberto Ayala, 36, 900 block of Hankes Avenue, Aurora, was charged with manufacturing/delivering more than 900 grams of cocaine, a Class X felony, felony possession of more than 900 grams of cocaine, failure to signal, and driving on a suspended/revoked license at 7:30 p.m. Friday near West Illinois Avenue and North Lake Street, police said.
