Search of Sandwich home ends in drug, gun charges

Three Sandwich residents are facing drug charges following the execution of a search warrant at their home Wednesday, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies searched the residence around 5:30 a.m., and found cocaine, marijuana and a handgun, according to a press release.

Jessica Baxter, 27, Garrett Bennett, 20, and Arthur Oberlin, 44, all of the 700 block of East Fourth Street, were charged as a result of the search.

Deputies said Baxter was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, obstruction of justice, and possession of a firearm without a FOID card.

Oberlin was charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, deputies said.

Bennett was charged with possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, and possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, deputies said.
