A trial date could soon be set for Richard Madison, who is accused of being drunk while driving a group of Oswego students to prom last spring.
Madison, of Palos Hills, was behind the wheel of a party bus transporting 23 Oswego East High School students in May to prom at Abbington Banquets near Glen Ellyn. Students became concerned by his driving and talked to their parents, who then alerted police.
Madison was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and reckless conduct. Court records state Madison had a blood-alcohol content level of .22 and failed field sobriety tests.
A DuPage County judge has set an Oct. 22 hearing to consider a possible plea or set a trial date for Madison.
