Man charged with DUI after parking in roadway

A 59-year-old Sandwich man was charged with drunken driving at 11:31 p.m. Saturday after police were called to the scene of a possible crash near East River Road and Eldamain Road, Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies said.
When they arrived, deputies found that Rickie Benuska, 3000 block of Somonauk Road, had not been in a crash, but had parked his car in the roadway. Benuska was charged with drunken driving and improper parking in the roadway.
Someone stole a water meter and copper alloys, worth $1,150, sometime between Sept. 4 and Monday from a vacant home in the 800 block of Plum Street, police said.
Christopher Brooks, 20, of Woodridge, was charged with felony misuse of a credit card and felony possession of another person’s credit card at 10:41 a.m. Friday at the Aurora Police Department, police said.
Adrian Gerera, 20, 400 block of North River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony battery of a pregnant person and domestic battery at 7:50 p.m. Sunday at his home after he allegedly battered a woman who was seven months pregnant, police said. Police said Gerera allegedly became angry with the woman after she flushed a bag of his marijuana down the toilet during an argument.
Keith Taylor, 39, of Rockford, was charged with drunken driving at 12:50 a.m. Sunday near Montgomery Road and Douglas Road, police said.
A pharmacist reported that someone dropped off a fraudulent prescription around noon on Sunday at his pharmacy in the 2000 block of Orchard Road. The witness said the man had used a stolen prescription pad. He was described as a Hispanic man in his 50s.
Erica Harris, 35, of Berkley, was charged with retail theft after she was seen removing and concealing cash from the register of a business where she worked at 1:45 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Douglas Road, police said.
Someone broke into a home sometime between Sept. 12 and Sept. 17 in the 200 block of Pine Ridge, police said. Police said the suspects forced entry into the home and stole electronics and clothing. No estimated loss was given.
Kim Sylvest, 59, 100 block of Bertram Drive, Yorkville, was charged with three counts of felony drunken driving, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident at 7:17 a.m. Friday after she allegedly struck multiple cars, a garage door, a pillar and two trees along Bertram drive, police said.
Geraldo Diaz-Arteaga, of Spring Valley, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage, driving on a suspended license, and illegal transportation of alcohol at 3:12 a.m. Sunday near Route 71 and East High Point Road, police said.
