Man charged with punching Aurora officer

An Aurora man was charged with battering a police officer after he was caught stealing steaks from a local grocery store on Friday.
Police said Ricardo Corona, 25, 400 block of Sherman Avenue, injured an officer while she attempted to take him into custody, and then ran away from the scene.
He was charged with felony battery, felony resisting a peace officer, felony retail theft, resisting an officer, and driving on a suspended/revoked license.
Police were called to a grocery store in the 1400 block of East New York Street at around 2 p.m. Friday after employees witnessed a man concealing steaks in his pants, and leaving the store without paying.
An employee wrote down the license plate of the car the suspect drove off in.
Police ran the plate, which came back to Corona. When an officer arrived at Corona’s home, he resisted arrest, allegedly punching the officer before running away.
Police located Corona in the 1200 block of Hinman Street and placed him under arrest.
The officer was taken to an area hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries, police said.
Jose Ovidio, 33, 1400 block of Indian Avenue, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance, driving on a suspended/revoked license, and improper lane usage at 8:01 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue, police said.
Barrett Jacques, 28, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal damage to property at 8:52 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Yorkshire Court, police said.
Miguel Radillo, 46, 700 block of Delius Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, no insurance, driving on a suspended/revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and illegal transportation of alcohol at 9:37 p.m. Friday at his home, police said.
Jeremiah Benjamin, 21, 100 block of Gregory Street, Aurora, was charged with felony misuse of a credit card, and felony possession of another person’s credit card at 5 p.m. Friday in Lisle, police said.
Vanessa Morell, 20, 0-99 block of Lancaster Avenue, Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license at 12:08 a.m. Saturday near Douglas Road and Season’s Ridge Boulevard, deputies said.
Timothy Robinson, 18, 9400 block of Caton Farm Road, Yorkville, was charged with attempting to defraud a drug/alcohol screening at 12:57 p.m. Friday at the Kendall County Courthouse after he allegedly used a kit to falsify a drug screening he was required to take as part of his probation, deputies said.
