Yorkville bank reports receiving counterfeit $20

Employees reported that someone passed off two counterfeit $20 bills at 2:18 p.m. Friday at a bank in the 100 block of West Veterans Parkway in Yorkville, police said. Several incidents involving counterfeit $20 bills have been reported in Oswego and Yorkville in the past few weeks.

Aurora

An Aurora man was convicted Monday of DUI in a 2012 incident in the downtown area. John C. Holdren, 68, of the 600 block of LaFayette Street, Aurora, was found guilty of driving under the influence and failure to signal when required. Kane County prosecutors said Holdren drove recklessly through downtown Aurora on May 22, 2012, before being pulled over by police on South Fourth Street. He faces up to a year in the Kane County Jail, police said.

Lorenzo Hernandez, of the 400 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged with four counts of drunken driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, and no drivers license at 6:10 p.m. Sunday at New York and State streets, police said.

Tandi L. Bradford, 47, of the 1000 block of Elliott Avenue, Aurora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 12:44 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Constitution Drive, police said.

David A. Williams, Jr., 24, of the 500 block of West New York Street, Aurora, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 9:40 a.m. Sunday at Illinois and Cheyenne avenues, police said.

Anthony I. Esquivel, 18, of the 0-99 block of Codorus Road, Montgomery, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 5:10 p.m. Sunday at Locust Street and Downer Place, police said.

Jose Hernandez, 36, of the 700 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged Sunday with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer at New York and State streets, police said.

Walter J. Barrera, 24, of the 500 block of South LaSalle Street, Aurora, was charged Sunday with possession of drug paraphernalia at Middle Avenue and Gale Street, police said. He also was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, not having a valid drivers license and expired registration.

Montgomery

Aurorans Jose Campos, 17, of the 200 block of Cedar Street, and Marcos A. Herrera, 18, of the 500 block of Simms Street, and two juveniles, were charged with residential burglary after police responded to a burglary in progress Thursday morning in the 1300 block of Kingston Avenue, police said. According to police, the resident reported hearing someone open the front door and walk around the home. When police arrived, the suspects were gone, but their vehicle was found several blocks away, police said.
