An Aurora man with a history of sex offenses was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for exposing and fondling himself in a Batavia store, prosecutors said.
James E. Rozema, 57, pleaded guilty in Kane County Court to one count of public indecency, a Class 4 felony, and one count of failing to register as a sex offender, a Class 2 felony.
Prosecutors said Rozema entered a business in the 300 block of Randall Road in Batavia on the afternoon of Dec. 20, 2012, and exposed and fondled himself within the view of other customers.
Later that day, Rozema went to the Aurora Police Department to register as a sex offender because of his prior sex offenses, prosecutors said.
However, an investigation found that Rozema had not registered since changing his address two months earlier.
