Auroran pleads guilty to entering homes, touching sleepers

An Aurora man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleading guilty to entering homes and touching sleeping victims, including one child.
Keaton J. McCray, 41, pleaded guilty this month in Kane County Court to one count of home invasion, a Class X felony, and one count of criminal sexual abuse, a Class 4 felony.
Prosecutors said that at about 3:30 a.m. on May 21, 2011, McCray cut a window screen in the 400 block of Bangs Street in Aurora, reached in and touched a 19-year-old woman, who was asleep.
At about 3 a.m. June 27, 2011, McCray entered a first-floor bedroom in a residence in the 500 block of Gates Street in Aurora, by removing a fan from a window, prosecutors said. A 12-year-old girl sleeping in the room awoke to find McCray standing over her. The girl screamed and McCray placed his hand over her mouth, prosecutors said.
The victim squirmed and kicked enough to free herself from McCray’s grip, then screamed and awoke her brother, who was asleep in the same room. When her brother ran out to wake their parents, McCray fled, prosecutors said.
Police took fingerprint samples that matched McCray to both crime scenes.
Neither victim in the incidents knew McCray.
