NORTH AURORA — North Aurora police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Thursday morning.

Around 5:15 a.m. Thursday, a man wearing a mask entered the 7-Eleven at 718 Butterfield Road, pointed a small black gun at the clerk, and demanded cash from the register.

The clerk complied and gave the man an undetermined amount of cash. He also took an unknown number of lottery scratch-off tickets and several cartons of cigarettes before leaving the store.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, and lean, wearing a black-and-white shirt, black gloves, and a black mask, police said. He was armed with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic gun, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Investigations Division at 630-897-8705, ext. 610.

Anonymous tips may be left by calling 630-897-8705 and choosing option 3, or by calling Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000, where callers could receive a reward for information leading to a felony arrest.
