Two convenience stores burglarized in Aurora

AURORA — Two convenience stores were burglarized early Tuesday morning on Aurora’s East Side, but police said they are not sure yet if the incidents are related.
At 12:52 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to a burglary in process at a convenience store in the 1300 block of East New York Street.
A window, valued at $1,000, was smashed in. Police entered through the window, but found only the clerk inside.
Security footage showed two men, both about 5-feet-8 inches, 170 pounds, wearing hoodies, gym shoes, jeans and bandanas on their faces, break into the shop and take some unknown items, putting them into a bag.
At 2:42 a.m., police responded to a gas station convenience store in the 400 block of North Farnsworth Avenue, a half-mile from the location of the earlier robbery.
Cigarettes, tobacco, beef jerky, potato chips, earrings and $200 were reported stolen. Loss was estimated at $1,384.
Police said the suspects were wearing clothing similar to the burglars in the earlier incident, but did not confirm that the two incidents were connected.
