Cell phone missing from school

A 34-year-old resident of the 0-99 block of Grant Street, Oswego, reported her son’s cellular telephone was stolen sometime Tuesday from Thompson Junior High School, 440 Boulder Hill Pass, police said.
A manager of the Walmart store on the 2300 block of Route 34 on Wednesday reported a television set was stolen about 6:22 p.m. Jan. 25, police said.
Officials of a company in Denver about 10:52 a.m. Wednesday reported a $15,000 theft occurred on the 100 block of Kirkland Circle, police said.
Carol S. Parker, 72, of the 400 block of Treasure Drive, Oswego, was arrested about 9:03 p.m. Wednesday near Washington Avenue and Adams Street and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI of greater than .08 and improper lane use, police said.
Janis L. Blatner, 62, of the 0-99 block of Eastway Drive, Oswego, suffered minor injuries about 12:09 p.m. Thursday, after the vehicle in which she and her husband were traveling was struck by a vehicle near Route 34 and Douglas Road, police said. Their report did not indicate whether the driver of the other vehicle, a juvenile, was arrested or ticketed following the crash.
David C. Barnes, 23, of the 200 block of Bluegrass Drive, Oswego, was arrested about 12:25 a.m. Saturday near Routes 34 and 71, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of an alcoholic beverage, following another vehicle too closely and improper lane use, police said.
Jessica Cadena, 21, of the 900 block of South Hugh Street, Plano, was arrested about 11:22 p.m. Wednesday near Jones and Hale streets, and charged with possession of marijuana and speeding in a construction zone, police said.
Thomas W. Fiala, 55, of the 700 block of Cynthia Drive, Sandwich, was arrested about 7:19 p.m. Feb. 2 during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections, and also was charged with two counts of theft and one count each of altering vehicle registrations and driving with a revoked license, LaSalle County sheriff’s deputies said. Sandwich police said he also was charged with aggravated assault, for using an air pistol about 1:45 p.m. Jan. 31 to threaten employees of a business on the 0-100 block of North Eddy Street from which he had stolen.
