About 280 flights cancelled at O’Hare, 30 at Midway

Almost 280 flights total have been cancelled Friday morning at O’Hare International Airport as winter storms pummel the Northeast.

“Minor delays” were also reported at O’Hare, said Karen Pride, spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Aviation, who added that more than 160 flights were experiencing delays.

At Midway International Airport, almost 30 flights were cancelled and no significant delays were reported as of Friday morning, authorities said.

On Friday, two winter storms are expected to merge into one of the largest blizzards in a century for some Northeast cities.
