A woman who worked as a hairdresser on the upcoming Superman movie “Man of Steel” was injured during filming of the movie in Plano, according to a federal court documents filed.

On Aug. 30, 2011, while filming a scene, Cheryl Pickenpack walked across the set to fix the hair of one of the actors and was “severely and permanently” injured, according to court documents filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago. The set was designed to look like rubble and was a “fractured and uneven” surface, according to the suit.

Pickenpack, a Chicago resident listed on IMDB.com as key hair stylist for the film, and as a stylist on several other movies including “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Save the Last Dance,” originally filed the suit last month in Cook County Circuit Court but it was removed to U.S. District Court on Thursday.

The four-count lawsuit claims negligence on the part of Warner Bros. Entertainment, Third Act Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

Warner Bros. Entertainment did not have a comment on the lawsuit. Representatives for Third Act Pictures and Legendary Pictures could not be reached for comment.

Jeffrey C. Schwartz, attorney for Pickenpack, also would not comment on the pending case.

The suit seeks more than $75,000 in damages.

“Man of Steel” is in post-production, and is expected to open in theaters on June 14.
