3 ATVs stolen in Kendall County

A 40-year-old Yorkville woman reported a theft in the 8700 block of Route 52 in Newark, according to Kendall County sheriff’s deputies. Two four-wheelers and a dune buggy, valued at more than $1,200, were stolen Dec. 20, police said.


Jelisa Allen, 19, 2800 block of West Congress Parkway, Chicago, and Tamica Riley, 35, 1300 block of East 71st Place, Chicago, were charged with felony retail theft at 4:41 p.m. Saturday at the Chicago Premium Outlets mall on Farnsworth Avenue, police said.

Four wallets, three rings, a pair of earrings and a necklace, worth $1,775, were stolen from a home in the 600 block of Jefferson Street between Dec. 15 and Saturday, police said.

Juan Cobos, 41, 700 block of Hamilton Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor expired registration at 8:50 p.m. Friday near Union Street and Fifth Avenue, police said.

Hector Serrano, 48, 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged with felony criminal damage to property and misdemeanor trespassing last week in the 900 block of Sard Avenue, police said.


A 16-year-old Sandwich boy was charged with theft for stealing a Christmas gift from a porch, police said. According to a report, a package was taken from a porch in the 300 block of South Pearl Street late Monday. As police looked for the package, the youth fled from an officer, police said. Police later tracked the suspect down at his home in the 100 block of East Hall Street and recovered the stolen property there, police said.


A Georgia man was arrested on four in-state warrants early Tuesday morning, police said.

Shawn Erickson, 51, of Gainesville, Ga., was arrested on failure to appear warrants: a 1992 felony drunken driving case in DuPage County; a 2005 drunken driving case in McLean County; a 2006 felony drunken driving case in McLean County; and a 1998 contempt of court warrant in Kane County. Police stopped the man when his friend flagged down a police car for a ride home at 1:11 a.m. Tuesday at Main and Hugh streets. Erickson was taken to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville.
