Park New Year’s Eve Party to begin celebration early for kids

AURORA — Families and children can start their New Year’s Eve activities early with a celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the Vaughan Athletic Center.
The Family New Year’s Eve Party will ring in 2013 with a variety of festivities. Kids and adults can get energetic while climbing and bouncing on giant inflatables, playing interactive games, competing in hula hoop contests, viewing sports demonstrations and dancing with a live DJ.
“This event gives kids their own celebration,” said recreation supervisor Lisa Peterson. “They don’t have to stay up until midnight to enjoy a New Year’s party.”
Party favors will be distributed to all pre-registered guest for the countdown to 2013 that will feature a colossal balloon drop at noon.
Pre-registration by Dec. 28 is encouraged. Advance tickets are $7 per person (ages 2 and up). Children under 2 are free. Day-of tickets are $10 per person, with party favors and snacks available while supplies last.
