SUGAR GROVE — A 53-year-old man has been charged with felony battery after striking a pizza parlor employee in an argument over a free pie, police said.
Mitchell Jeczalik, of Green Hills Court in Sugar Grove, was charged with one count of felony aggravated battery in a public place, and one count of misdemeanor battery at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 5, Sugar Grove police said.
Police said Jeczalik was at Rosati’s Pizza, 400 block of North Route 47, and began to argue with a clerk over a credit for a free pizza. Police said the dispute became physical when Jeczalik struck the employee.
On Thursday, Jeczalik turned himself in to Sugar Grove police. Police said there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
