AURORA —Last year, as Fox Valley families readied their Thanksgiving feasts, more than 900 guests enjoyed free turkey dinners in the city’s first-ever Community Thanksgiving Celebration at East Aurora High School.
This year’s citywide dinner will be Nov. 21, and coordinators are hoping to dwarf that number.
Meals will be served at two locations this year — East Aurora High School at 500 Tomcat Lane, and West Aurora High School at 1201 W. New York St. Dinner seatings will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at both locations.
More than 400 volunteers from local churches and other non-profit and community organizations turned up last year for the first-time event, which featured decorations and dinner with all the fixings.
Families must register by Nov. 19 at: www.goodsaminc.org; Main Baptist Church at 808 E. Galena Blvd.; Aurora Township at 313 Gale St.; or by calling 630-301-6911.
