The Geneva School Board Thursday posted its most recent contract offer on the district’s website.
The new offer includes some salary schedule changes. Instead of a “hard freeze” for the 2012-2013 school year, 36 teachers would receive lane advances for graduate work completed this school year, while 57 teachers who are within three years of retiring would receive step increases. The remaining teachers would still receive no pay raise and no step advancement on the salary schedule.
In the second year of the contract, teachers would receive a 1.65 percent pay raise, up from the 1.4 percent originally proposed, but teachers could only earn one lane advancement instead of three.
In the third year, teachers would get a 2.75 percent pay raise and would be able to earn one lane advancement. The new offer doesn’t specify whether teachers would receive step increases in the second two years.
To compare both offers, visit the district’s website at www.geneva304.org and click on the “negotiations update page” link.
