Updated: November 9, 2012 6:12AM

AURORA — RiverEdge Park’s first season will begin with Blues on the Fox next June, but the city is offering groups a sneak peek of the new park along the banks of the Fox River.

City officials said tours will be available for a limited time to groups of 15 to 50 people. To arrange a group tour, people can contact the city Planning Division at 630-256-3080.

The new RiverEdge Park is on Broadway between New York Street and Illinois Avenue.

The park’s Music Garden will hold up to 9,500 people and contain the John C. Dunham Pavilion and a guest services building that features a ticket window, concessions and a rooftop viewing deck.

The music venue is the first phase of a 30-acre master plan, which includes wetlands, playgrounds, walking and biking trails, a pedestrian bridge, fountains and other amenities. Starting next summer, the John C. Dunham Pavilion will host national, regional and local musical acts. The management of the facility will be handled by the Aurora Civic Center Authority, which operates the Paramount Theatre.
