N. Aurora cops seek suspects in shooting

NORTH AURORA — Police are looking for two men who are believed to have been involved in a shooting at a North Aurora apartment complex Tuesday morning.

At 7:05 a.m., police were called about a shooting at an apartment building in the 100 block of South River Road. Officers found that two men had been shot in one apartment. A 22-year-old man was shot in the arm and 23-year-old man was shot in the chest, police said. Both men lived in the building, police said.

They were both conscious and able to leave the building under their own power, police said. Both were taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center, but their condition was not known Tuesday afternoon.

Police are looking for two suspects in the shooting. They are described as Hispanic men about 5-foot-8 and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. One of the men had a stainless steel semiautomatic handgun, police said. It is not known whether the other man had a gun.

Police said no description of the men’s dress was available and it was not known how the suspects fled or where they might have gone.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police did not know what the motive was for the shooting.
