Woman charged with hitting cop while booked for DUI

Elizabeth Tomkowiak, 50, of the 1600 block of River Road, Montgomery, was charged with drunken driving at 8:52 p.m. Monday near Route 25 and Glendale Drive, the Kendall County sheriff’s office said.

While she was being booked at the Kendall County jail in Yorkville, Tomkowiak hit a corrections officer, breaking the officer’s glasses and cutting the officer’s face, police said. She was then charged with aggravated battery and criminal damage to property, police said.

Aurora

Aurora police are investigating another string of car burglaries on the city’s far East Side. At least eight cars were burglarized or entered between 11 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday, police said. The burglaries occurred on Charlotte Circle, Tara Belle Parkway and Ohara Terrace. During the previous weekend, items were taken from several cars about a half-mile north of the area. There may have been injuries in a two-car crash at 4:10 a.m. Monday near South Union Street and Sixth Avenue, police said. Julio Herrera, 61, 100 block of North State Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed, police said. Police would not release further information.

Christian Velazquez, 30, 800 block of Claim Street, Aurora, was charged with felony reporting a false offense and misdemeanor obstructing lawful identification at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at his home, police said.

Emmanuel Saenz, 23, 0-99 block of Hubbard Way, Montgomery, was charged with felony aggravated battery of a police officer at 2:05 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of Ogden Avenue, police said.

Ulysses Shockley, 25, 1600 block of Felten Road, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving and no insurance at 6:14 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of North Eola Road, police said.

Hugo Moreno was charged with aggravated drunken driving, no insurance, failure to reduce speed, improper lane use, no seat belt, illegal transportation of alcohol and leaving the scene of a property damage accident at 4:33 p.m. Friday near Felten Road and Fox Ridge Court, police said. Moreno’s car hit a curb, rolled over, hit a tree and split the tree in half, police said. Moreno fled the scene but was found near Reckinger and Felten roads, police said.

About $10,000 damage was done when someone smashed the windows of a business in the 100 block of South Broadway sometime before 2:16 a.m. Sunday, police said. Police also received a report that a chunk of cement was thrown through the window of a business in the 0-99 block of South Broadway between 10 p.m. Saturday and 3:20 p.m. Sunday.

Felipe Iturbe, 33, 1200 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue, police said.

Brian Chapman, 38, 600 block of South West Street, Plano, was charged with felony possession of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana as well as misdemeanors defective muffler and failure to signal at 9:19 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Grand Boulevard, police said.

Brian Ball, 42, 400 block of Liberty Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies robbery, vehicular invasion and aggravated battery of a person older than 60 as well as misdemeanor battery at 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of North River Street, police said.

Alberth Gomez, 19, 0-99 block of North Spencer Street, Aurora, was charged with felonies possession of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana and possession of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1700 block of Indian Avenue, police said.

Daryl Hill, 38, 1200 block of Victory Court, Aurora, was charged with felony domestic battery at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 29 at his home, police said Tuesday.

Le’Humphrey Bunch, 24, 7400 block of Eberhart Street, Chicago, was charged with felonies forgery and resisting a peace officer at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 29 in Aurora, police said Tuesday.

Asibayo Whitfield, 18, 0-99 block of North Lancaster Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony residential burglary at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at his home, police said Tuesday.

Dreyke Jones, 18, 900 block of Fourth Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony theft and misdemeanor battery at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at his home, police said Tuesday.

Shaquille Ross, 19, 1000 block of Grand Boulevard, Aurora, was charged with felony residential burglary at 7:40 p.m. Thursday at his home, police said Tuesday.

Zhen Li, 44, 1000 block of Sanctuary Lane, Naperville, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane use at 4:10 a.m. Friday near New York Street and Commons Drive, police said.

Kendall County

An employee at Ralph’s Place and Blackberry Oaks Golf Course, both of 2245 Kennedy Road, Bristol, reported that someone cut their telephone lines and tampered with a lock between 3 and 4 a.m. Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

Montgomery

Pedro Herrera, 24, 1300 block of Solfisburg Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felonies aggravated driving under the influence and driving while license revoked at 11:39 p.m. Saturday near Jericho and Lindenwood roads, police said. Herrera has three previous driving under the influence convictions and had a 7-month-old child in the back seat at the time of the stop, police said.

Anthony Fiello, 55, 200 block of Gregory Street, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence at 12:10 a.m. Monday near Route 30 and Baseline Road, police said.

Oswego

Judy Swick, 58, 600 block of Woodchuck Trail, Oswego, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use at 8:30 p.m. Monday near Woodchuck Trail and Fawn Drive, police said.
