AURORA — Two firefighters were sent to the hospital Friday morning after a fire on Aurora’s West Side.
The Aurora Fire Department received a call at 8:51 a.m. reporting a fire at an apartment building at 1262 Coventry Place.
Two apartments on the top floor of the three-story brick building were heavily damaged, and two firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. One firefighter was suffering from heat exhaustion and the other had debris in his eye, according to Fire Chief Hal Carlson.
A forensics unit from the Aurora Police Department and investigators with the Aurora Fire Department are both investigating the cause of the blaze.
