Drew’s letter bin . . .
Sneed is told accused wife murderer Drew Peterson has received a pile of “love letters” since his trial began in Will County several weeks ago.
◆ Go figure: “The love and friendship letters are primarily from women . . . approximately 90 percent,” said Peterson’s attorney Joel Brodsky. “Most are from women who want to meet him.”
◆ Peterson, the jailed former Bolingbrook cop, gets “nine letters a day” doled out to him at the jail, but he’s been told jail administrators are “holding a truckload,” Brodsky tells Sneed.
◆ Incoming: Sneed hears jail guards were surprised and hesitant at first to give Peterson the incoming pile of letters.
◆ Background: Peterson, who has been in jail awaiting trial for the past three years for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio — the mother of two of his six children — initially received letters from love-struck women convinced of his innocence — but the river of mail dried up over the last year. Even his ex-girlfriend stopped visiting him.
◆ Candyland: Meanwhile, Sneed has learned Peterson gave permission to “Aunt Candy”— the California-based aunt of his missing fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, to take his two youngest children, Lacy and Anthony for a “weekend holiday” at a local motel recently. “The kids had a great time,” said Brodsky, who added “Aunt Candy”— whose full name is Candace Aikin — was in town as a possible trial witness for the prosecution — but wound up not being called.

Slather it on! GOP veep hopeful Paul Ryan, a workout nut, has now been introduced to ticket mate Mitt Romney’s preferred campaign trail food of peanut butter and honey sandwiches.
Scary Harry . . .
“I see London, I see France,” but where are Prince Harry’s underpants?
◆ A sticky wicket! When nude photos of England’s Prince Harry went viral on the Internet of his naughty nibs playing a game of strip billiards in Las Vegas this week, it was initially thought the pix may have been doctored because Harry’s face was turned aside.
◆ A wicked stickit! Blimey! But there was telltale evidence in the scandalous photos that pointed right to randy Harry: a silver pendant with an amber colored stone on a leather thong given to him by his on/off again girlfriend Chelsy Davy, which he always wears round his neck! It just happened to be the only thing he was wearing.
◆ Meanwhile: A gobsmacked Queen Elizabeth, Harry’s hyperventilating grandmama, is expected to issue an order inquiring into the type of security given to her grandson enabling such a click catastrophe to occur, don’tchaknow.
◆ Hmmm: Wonder if Chelsy Davy will continue to wear the blue topaz ring love token Harry gave her.

Power place: So how did Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was just named by Forbes magazine as No. 2 on their “Most Powerful Women” list, celebrate her hubby’s 66th birthday Sunday?
◆ Answer: They played cards with daughter Chelsea.
◆ Oh, yeah . . . and Michelle Obama was No. 7 on the list. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was No. 1.

Singer Taylor Swift, 22, and new boyfriend Conor Kennedy, an 18-year-old member of the famous Kennedy clan, continue to make waves.
◆ The two were photographed visiting the Cape Cod grave site of Conor’s mother, Mary Kennedy Richardson, who committed suicide in May.
◆ The pair also showed up to the Boston wedding of another Kennedy clan member and were asked to leave by the bride’s mother for only texting they were planning to attend an hour before the event . . . and due to concern they’d take attention away from the bride and groom, according to a report in the Boston Herald.
