Big Rock man charged with attempted murder

A Big Rock man is facing attempted murder charges after a stabbing near Hinckley early Friday morning.

The DeKalb County sheriff’s office received a 911 call at 1:39 a.m. Friday for a home near Hinckley, where a man in his early 20s had been stabbed in a fight. The man was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, then flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, where police reported him in critical condition Monday. The victim’s name was not released.

The other person involved in the fight, Eric Larson, 23, 47W900 block of Sixth Street, Big Rock, was also injured and taken to Kishwaukee. When he was released from the hospital Saturday, he was charged with attempted murder, armed violence and aggravated battery, police said.

Aurora

Samuel Hankins, 26, 700 block of Terry Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felonies delivery of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana, possession of 30 to 500 grams of marijuana and producing 20 to 50 marijuana plants at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in his home, police said.

Jessica Fenton, 20, and Joshua Lee, 30, both of the 1700 block of North Marywood Avenue, Aurora, were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at their home, police said. Lee was also charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance, expired registration and no rear registration light, police said.

Joel Silva, 23, 400 block of North Constitution Drive, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, improper turn and obstructed windshield at 1:37 a.m. Saturday near Montgomery Road and Hill Avenue, police said.

Jose Cepeda, 36, 1000 block of South Liberty Street, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance at 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 0-99 block of South Broadway, police said.

Someone pried two tail lights from a car in the 2700 block of White Barn Road between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday, police said. Total loss was $1,500, police said.

A generator, sewing machine and freezer were stolen when someone forced open the door of a home in the 400 block of Liberty Street between Tuesday and Saturday, police said. Total loss was $3,400.

Geneva

Nathan Jugenitz, 28, 300 block of North Second Street, Geneva, was charged with drunken driving and speeding last week in the 100 block of North Second Street, police said.

Jill Jacobs, 40, 6N000 block of Halsted Avenue, St. Charles, was charged with drunken driving, driving too fast for conditions, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia last week in the 200 block of North Sixth Street, police said.

Kendall County

A Montgomery man was arrested at his home twice in two days, the sheriff’s office said. According to police, Albert Hoffman Jr., 42, 0-99 block of Circle Street, was charged with domestic battery at 7:49 p.m. Saturday at his home. At 5:39 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to Hoffman’s home because someone was inside when no one was supposed to be there, police said. Officers found Hoffman and he was charged with violating the conditions of his bail bond, police said.

Rosa Carrasco, 32, 0-99 block of Seneca Road, Montgomery, was treated and released from Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora after her vehicle hit a tree at 1:02 a.m. Sunday near Seneca Road and Circle Drive East, the sheriff’s office said. Carrasco was charged with driving too fast for conditions, no insurance and no seat belt, police said.
